Box breaks, whether a sports break, or trading card box breaks, are getting more and more popular among hobbyists and card collectors. Depending on if you’re participating in group box breaks or online box breaks, taking part in a break is often much more exciting than tearing through packs on your own because you’re not only anticipating what cards you might get but what cards others taking part in it will get too. Whether you’ve bought into plenty of breaks in the past or you’re looking to take part in your first break, check out the boxes we have available, pick your team, and be sure to join us live in person or online!

What are online box breaks?

Box breaks are pretty popular among card collectors. If you’re curious about taking part in one, we want you to know the basics of online box breaks in order to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. So, what are they? Box breaks are when a person or business (like us) livestreams themselves opening a hobby box, with specific cards going to certain people who “buy in” for a spot in the break prior to the opening.A common kind of box break is for sports cards though it can be for other trading cards as well such as Magic The Gathering and Pokemon.

But how is it determined who gets what cards? There are a few different ways.

  • Participants can get a random team, or teams, assigned to them live after all paying the same price, and then each gets to keep all the cards of players who are part of that team.
  • We do NFL Sports Card Breaks, MLB Sports Card Breaks, NBA Sports Card Breaks, UFC Sports Card Breaks, WWE Sports Card Breaks, & Soccer Sports Card Breaks.
  • Participants can all receive a limited number of cards at random, with each getting at least one.
  • Participants can receive all the cards that come from a specific number of packs (this is typically reserved for non-sports hobby boxes).
  • Why buy into a break?

Sport Card Breaks offer individuals like you a chance at getting super rare, highly-coveted cards without having to pay the full price (often $100 and up) for the box they came in. You’ll have to get a little lucky, of course, but there’s no denying that it’s a more affordable way to get a shot at those prized cards everyone is after.

Here at The Iron Lion, we do group breaking 5 days a week. You can watch our sports card breaks livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch
